Because a cable is inserted from each side into the coupling and the coupling is oblong, it is usually sufficient to use only one coupling when repairing cable breaks. In addition, there is an entry in the coupling on the side for guide wire when used.

In addition to being filled with gel, the coupling has a membrane that seals against the cable.

The coupling can be used for cables with the following specification:
Conductor size: 0.8-1.5 mm2
Max diameter including insulation: 3.5 mm
